SMS Message alert stopped working?

6 replies · 3,476 views · Started 22 May 2004

Hi,

Been using my P900 for many months now, all of a sudden the message notification icon in the taskbar which alerts me to new SMS etc has dissapeared?

Also, when I get sent an SMS I don't get the "alert" noise anymore, in fact the only way I know I've got a new SMS is by going into the messages app?

Checked all my settings (I haven't changed anything) Notification is still on, as is the "alert" noise?

Any thought?

Thx

Nezza

might be of a newly installed application, check what you've installed lately, and try uninstalling them, it might solve your problem

Last time I heard of this happening it was someone who had several hundred SMS's in their inbox and it had just run out of memory.

don't think this would matter, as I have more than 500 sms and mora than a 100 emails and MMS, and never face anything (Yet), and even read about people having more than a thousand sms with no such problem
as I said before this issue might be related to some corrupted or missing files from your SMS settings or system data!

you can try to backup your data, do a format to your internal drive, restore and see if it's back, as I think it should solve your problem

anyway that's just a wild guess :?

i tried to change the SMS storage from MMC to phone into an 6600
and the problem fixed, i hope this may help u

I guess not, because you can only save an SMS on the internal memory with the P900...

have u tried to disable the LOG (reports etc)? or delete the messages
(backup the first)
