My 6600 will turn off the external ringer when the buetooth headset is in use. The only way to hear the phone ring is when you are wearing the headset.
When I am driving, I set the phone in the console and the headset in my shirt pocket, and I miss calls. That drives me nuts!!
The Nokia techs says this is built into the phone and they have no plans to change.
Anybody have an easy fix for this???
Cheers.
There is no (easy or otherwise) fix, except driving with your headset in your ear instead of your pocket. 😉
Yu can also set the phone to switch to a particular profile with the headset connected, and have that profile also vibrate, if it is of any help.
is it the latest firmware? upgrade ur firmware solved the problem.
or maybe u didn't change some setting on ur profile.
i am suffering the same prob
can any one tell me wht to do
i have to wear hdw evey time
when i am using it
No firmware releases will help. There is no fix, unless you can persuade Nokia to change the behaviour. The phone & its sw happens to be designed/written that way (with a Bluetooth headset connected, the phone rings only in the headset, not the phone's speaker).
Another workaround: Make the Bluetooth headset authorized (no connection prompts) and keep it headset turned off, and when your phone starts ringing, turn the headset on then.
