I want to connect my 6600 to my cpu,but it tries to connect to com0.Com 0 doesn't exist so I can't connect my telephone to the computer. Has anyone had the same problem?
Extremely annoying Bluetooth
Have you, on your PC, already:
- 1. Created a virtual Bluetooth COM port?
- 2. Paired the PC with the phone? or vice versa 😉
Use also the site's Search feature (http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum/search.php) to find many, many Bluetooth connectivity discussions with more detailed instructions/tips.

I'm getting the same problem, so unable to use my phone as modem. Have been trying now for past 3 days, have tried 2 different bluetooth adapters, tried both on my main PCand laptop, still with no success. Ihave updated to latest drivers for all BT hardware, and still no success.
I have been looking through nokia help, and BT manufacturer site help but no luck. Have also looked on several forums but can't find any with any help.
I have paired my N6600 with PCand have set the com port to COM5, plus tried all other COM prots offers, but still insits on stating COM0, then get error message advising device distonected conection.
It V V V V frustrating (didn;t have thiostroble with my SE Z600!!, should I go back!!) Any advise would be gfratefully appreciated.
thanks

'I didn't loose my mind, it was mine to give away'
i had all these problems and in the end it just worked. one thing i can maybe offer is that every single time i use mine it connects then disconnects and says something about communication lost or similar. i click ok then about five seconds later it just connects, and that's me sorted.
might help, might not. just thought i'd share it.
Just an add on to what Gary said really,
There is no problem with it using com0,pc suite will still detect the phone (strange i know) just tick the "Dont show me this again box" and when you get a connection error like "The device closed" or "The entire bluetooth neighbourhood failed" close the window instead of clicking "OK" and wait a couple of seconds,
You would think with all this technology things like this would not be possible,
Bring back the data cable lol.... 😡
I have discovered the reason behind my problems. I was using the Nokia PC suite and Vodafone Connect Me (to conect bia GPRS to internet). Having both programs installed was causing problems. Can connect and use the BT conection no prpblems whatsoever on there own, but not when both installed. So just have to decide which is more important, to be able to useGPRS on the gofor internet or the phone mangment utils in Nokia PC suite, which peronally don't like.
So I happy now, have the internet access via GPRS that require, just need towork out how to sync my phone with my PC another way!! Without having NokiaPC suite installed.
I am having the same problem, searched all the posts and cant find a solution, if anyone has one, now is the time to speak! 🙄

But they have spoken 😊
Thanks for the replies. I will try it as soon as I can. Today my Logitech diNovo set went to Hell, so I will install a dongle.

So what did you find worked for you then? Because Ive tried most things and it still hates me

I think I might have found something out that can help you too.
It looks like I was trying to connect my computer (with logitech wireless desktop mx for bluetooth) to the nokia 6600 with COM3, and at the same time the Nokia 6600 was connecting to my computer on COM5. So that's why it sometimes failed. I don't know how to solve it though, except I configured PCsuite to look for a phone on COM5 and it found one. I also set the 6600 to always trust the PC, and the PC to always trust the 6600.
At least now I can take backups of my 6600 again.
And the wireless keyboard/mouse from logitech works really great over bluetooth! I even use it to play Hitman: Contracts.
