Hi, I would be very greatfull if you could tell me : are N6600 and P900 based on the same OS??

Does for eg. games from N-Gage work on P900

Can I use soft from Nokia on P900 ???

Thanx, Maciek

Well they do both run Symbian OS, but they use a different "shell" (anyone got a better word for that). P900 uses UIQ, N6600 uses Series 60

This means that you can't use N6600 software on the P900 (not n-gage either).

ya well they both SORTA run on the same os but i still dont get wht ppl compare the 2 of them. i mean see the price diff hell thts diffrent

Delta737,shell or a more suitable term,UI - User Interface.

i mean see the price diff hell thts diffrent
Features are what is important, not the price(N-Gage VS 6600)

And, there is no series 60 emu for UIQ ??
As I herad p900 is more powerfull than 6600 which can handle ngage games, so theoreticaly (sorry for spelling, my english is not perfect 😉) it could be possible...

.. hmm... wondering why SE did not made its device work in the same format ... there are more apps. for series 60 ...

Wich "shell" is better, more advanced??

If the game is written using only the Eikon base classes with no use of platform specific libraries, then the game should run. I just don't know if any exits.

BTW, "User interface" is probably what you are looking for and not "shell".

I agree, UI is better than shell 😃

Which UI is better? Depends on what you need. UIQ is more suitable for business users IMO. Also UIQ has better multimedia capabilties.

On the other hand Series 60 is easier to operate with one hand.

I personally prefer UIQ!
