Is there an easy way to transfer text memos (like the kind I have in Outlook/Notes) to my Nokia 3650?

Unfortunately, I don't think Nokia built that feature into the phone. I've gotten around it by putting my notes as Contacts. I can add the text notes to the Notes section of Contacts and that will sync.

Hmm... The problem I have is that I have hundreds of 1-sentence long text files, in 5-10 categories. I wrote a little script that takes each to-do and puts a date on it so that it shows up with other to-do's in the same category. The problem is the to-do application now takes 3 minutes to start up and I have to scroll, painfully, through all of them.
I could write something similar to append the todos as notes contacts - how much text can you put in the note?

I'm not sure, but it's quite a lot of text you can fit in a note. If I can get a character count of my longest note, I will post that.

To add a note section when creating a contact by hand on the 3650, go to Options -> Add Detail. Scroll down to Note and say okay. I don't know if there is a way to change it so the Notes field shows up every time you create a contact. I find it much more convenient to add the detail in Outlook and let a sync put it on the phone.

Unfortunately, To-Dos and Notes are a weakness of the whole series-60 system. It does a decent job of Calendar (though no Notes) and Contacts section, but To-Dos and Notes seem to have been left high & dry.

If you have all these Notes in Outlook, another thing to try is to drag them to Contacts. It's a pain because you have to do it one at a time. I suppose you could multi-select common topics into one "Contact" - but either way it's not very smooth. Overall, my advice to anyone wanting heavy use of Notes and To-Do with them is to simply change over to a Pocket PC or Palm OS device. The smartphones are just not capable enough yet.

Hi furashgf. Handy Safe by Epocware lets you create lists, and it has its own syncing program for the pc as well. Dunno if that would help you... <http://nokia-3650-software.epocware.com/Handy_Safe.html>
