Whats the easiest way of coping all the contacts from one 7650 to another 7650. I have infrared port on my PC if it helps

if you just have one number per contact just copy all the contacts to your sim card and then insert the simcard to another 7650 and then copy the contact from sim to phone

but if you use 2 numbers per contact with some note maybe you can use the pc suite

dunno how to do it

Or as Pichu says you can copy all of the contacts to the sim and put the sim in the other phone then copy from the sim to the new phone.

i suggest u to do it with bluetooth i;m sure it's much much easier than change the sim

btw how can i send contacts via bluetooth ???

dunno how to do it

Contact are kept in C:\system\data\ file is called contacts.cdb

Send via bluetooth using seleQ and then it sould copy into the contacts once rec'd

aaahhh..

that;s the problem i don;t have seleq or task manager

so i can;t find that option lol

😃 😃 😃

both programs can be downloaded for trial, so you can try it out and then register if you like the proggy 😉

I think you can also beam them to each other using InfraRed ... (select and Send via InfraRed) ... I think

Send buisness card you mean, I think he wants to copy all the contacts, sending them as indvidual buisness cards would take forever.

Unless your refering to seleQ, in which case you can.

chers for all the answers, I think I will seleQ to IR the contact database file accross

Once again cheers for the help

when ever i try to copy over contacts.cdb is says that the file is in use and therefore cannot be overwritten

Any ideas how i can start the unit without starting contacts.cdb?

I have about 300 contacts with many numbers, emails etc etc...
I also have two mobiles the 7650 and the other one a siemens me 45.
Both mobiles are daily individually updated with new contacts, so i have to synch both mobiles with outlook and then back to the phone again.
the problem is every time i have to set the priorities (pc over mobile or mobile or pc or complete synch) otherwise i loose data or i get twice the same contact...
I find that the siemens phone has a mach better way of synch as it integrates with outlook, instead of having to open pc suite...

Coming to the contacts.cdb matter....
as i format my hard disk every few weeks to clear all the rabish from the computer i have re-rooted all the personal information to my-documents including contacts.cdb from outlook.
So when the outlook is re-installed by default it creates a new contacts.cdb in the programs directory, so what i do is delete that file...open outlook...get an error message...re-direct the default contacts file to mydocuments\contacts.cdb and voila!!!!

So specifically for the 7650 (i will try it later) if you do not use the contacts program just after re-starting the phone maybe it will work.
It is a good clean way to guaranty that you get the contacts copied correctly and not with the synch method which never works 100%

I got around the problem by making a back up of the old phone (7650o) and a back up of the new phone (7650n). Using Windows, I then copied the contact file from the 7650o backup and replaced the contact file stored in the 7650n directory. I then carried out a restore on the 7650n, in doing so the contact database was overwritten.
