Hi,
Not sure if anyone has covered this before (ie. cannot find thread). If this had been covered, admin pls close thread.
The SW's site with link to user guide:
http://www.photoacute.com
Check out the differences with these pics I took of a magazine cover (text is the toughest to capture) with my 6600 (8 snapshots, JPEG compression level 1):
Standard:

With PhotoAcute:

Apart from 1280 x 960 size, you can tell the edges and words are a lot sharper and more readible. And for colour shades, you can compare the difference between the word "Stuff" on top. The PhotoAcute-processed image is a lot richer and has minimal noise. Obviously this is not a case of just "Re-sizing" as the quality is a lot better.
Only catch is the 2 minutes required for post processing.
Anyone else tried this SW before?
😊
I did try it..
Well first of all, you need to stand verrryyyyy stilll and make a photo of static scene... didn't work for me, even with static scenes my hand moves around a bit and image was rather looking blured instead sharp.
And the post processing time is ridiculous...
It's a fine idea but current cameras make pictures way too slow (no chances of getting such a long still scene most of the time) and postprocessing time is way out of bounds

This is far and away the most annoying thing about digital cameras. 😡

Sorry... amended the links.... pls try again.

Now the links work. Thank you!
I am impressed. Photoacute really adds detail to the pic. Its much better than a resized/resampled pic, even using the best resizing methods. I tried (free) IrfanView which has varies resize methods, even quite sophisticated ones.
Nice software. (BTW:I am waiting for a UIQ version.)
