Bluetooth Modem and P900 - CRITICAL ISSUE

2 replies · 2,513 views · Started 25 May 2004

I bought a Zoom's blutooth modem, it is working fine with my i-mate (O2 XDA II) (ppc 2003) but i need this to work with my dads p900.

Has any one done it yet? i heard that P900 doesnt support the bluetooth dialup profile, if not is it possible to load this profile in P900 or is it hardware dependent?

Developers and technicians please help.

Regards,
Omer.

dear se user,

i work for semc (sony ericsson mobile comms), and to put you in the picture...

A p900 contains an internal modem for use through infra red port and bluetooth.

To operate either you will need a bluetooth or ir port on your 3rd party device.

Configure as required in your manual for your product.

Dear SE employee,

This is what the problem is, you guys dont get the picture, thts why the user community create forums/communities to solve each others problems.

However, I dont want to use P900 internal modem, if i do use its internal modem then i have to dial my ISP through GSM network which costs more, thats why the modem i bought (ZOOM BT modem) is plugged to your telephone line and provides you wireless modem for your desktop, laptop or PDA, etc... so on your computer you can wirelessly dial-in ur ISP using the land phone line.

Now i hope you get the picture clear, and for your further information, i mailed sony about this issue as well as an older issue which was to use the targus IR keyboard with P900, all i got was an auto responded diplomatic e-mail telling that my problem will be solved as soon as possible.

I got the targus unofficial driver from the following site, and is working perfectly.
