Ive had a 6600 for a while now, apparently i needed a SIM update to enable functions like multimedia messaging and GPRS access.
I recieved the SIM update earlier today, but still no luck.

When i try to send a multimedia message of any kind it just doesnt go, and tells me it will resend at a specific time.
Also, when i try and access anything using the 'Services' application it tells me - "connection to server needed, connect now?" or something to that effect. I click yes or ok, the little 'loading' line moves for a few seconds and then just stops. Seemingly preventing me from accessing anything because when i click a different link i get the same connection message.

I have a 6600 in the UK, im on pay as you go Orange.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers.

1: Do you have the correct MMS & GPRS access point settings from Orange for the 6600? If not, checke their web site or call their customer service and ask them to send the settings to you as a text message.

2: While at it, as I don't know Orange, check their customer service if you need to be somehow separately provisioned for MMS (some operators set it up by default for all users, for others you have to ask for it separately & some do it automatically when you get their MMS settings, and some do it automatically after you have their MMS settings and send your first MMS).

Yes i have got the access settings from from the nokia website. When i asked customer service for the SIM update i also enquired about the sttings, they said go to the nokia website and find the settings there.

Im at a loss at what else i can do.

Cheers for the reply

Use your manual to double check you have it set up right (sometimes the auto settings dont activate 100%) - then if all ok try again from nokia - Orange should be able to go through everything with you too if you are still stuck - oh yes also make sure Orange have activated the sim - or did you say that alrady.

After you recieved the sim update, did you delete and restart your phone? cos you gotta otherwise it does not work.

Definately sounds like your access points are not set up correctly, the Orange Pay as you go settings are different to contract.

Check these and if no luck do as joolsvern suggested by ringing orange, they want you to use all these services as it costs you money. 😊

Ps.Sometimes the sim updates are incorrect (vodafone were still sending N7650 settings for 6600 which are incorrect) best to enter manually, try searching this forum as the Orange pay and go settings may be here? 😊
