BLDMAKE ERROR: ERROR: CPP.EXE Failure

Hi all,

I am new to symbian. I am trying to execute an example but getting the following error:
C:\Symbian\6.1\Series60\Series60Ex\helloworld\group>bldmake bldfiles
BLDMAKE ERROR: ERROR: CPP.EXE Failure

I have installed code warrior UIQ2.1 for Sony P800 and Symbian OS v6.1 SDK for nokia 3650 and I am getting the same error for both.
For P800 example i am adding @UIQ_21:com.symbian.UIQ as an argument to bldmake bldfiles.
Also I am not able to use 'devices -setdefault @UIQ_21:com.symbian.UIQ' to set the default device. It gives me an error: unable to access devices.xml!

Please Help me out :? . I have tried to reinstalled the Codewarrior but the problem persists.

I have now the same problem with bldmake bldfiles failing because the cpp.exe crashes. Any suggestions and known fixes?

hi,
I'm working with nokia 9500 communicator.
Im trying to read IMEI using MOBINFO api.
while compiling the cpp file ( impln to read getIMEI from mobinfo - jni )
it prompeted to set default device id and
I am not able to set 'devices -setdefault @Series80_DP20_PP_SDK:com.nokia.Series80
for the default device.
It gives me an error: unable to access devices.xml!
the xml file is in sdk root and also set the path,

did u resolved the pblm when u had this b4?
i cud not resolve the error. if u cud figure it out, help me with the solution.

thanks,

Do you have cygwin installed on your machine? If so, the crash could be due to an incompatible cygwin1.dll that comes with the nokia sdk. Just rename the cygwin1.dll file in C:\Symbian\7.0s\Series60_v20\Epoc32\gcc\bin to something like incompatible.cygwin1.dll.

That should fix it.

Hi...I donno whether u guys find out the actual problem or not but that "CPP.exe" error is only for non-admin users. to run bladmake command u need to have administrator privileges or atleats Superuser priviliges.
