How many times have you ran in to someone you don't wan't to speak to? A boss, or that old "friend" that you always run into that likes the waste 20 miniutes of your time bragging about how good he is, or your nagging girlfriend? We have all been in a situation where we were desperate looking for a way out.
Okay Imagine this....hypothetical sitation...
You are in a situation... you need to get out off. You slip your hands in your pocket and for example hold down the 1 key for 3 seconds, 10 seconds later some software emulates a call to your phone, it rings, and you act like "oh its something something something... i gotta go" easy as abc! You gotta go!
You ever seen that movie "Spy Game" with Robert Redford & Brad Pitt, CIA guy Robert Redford character does the same thing to get out of many situations...
If anyone will give this serious consideration that will be great. I am not a programmer but it does not sound like too much trouble.. and it is a great little nifty idea 😊
I have a principle that, if I'm talking to someone "live", and the phone rings, I'll just let it ring (and silence it, if it isn't already); the phone'll catch the number anyway, and the caller can always leave a message (and if neither thing happens, it in all likelihood wasn't important anyway).
In any case, there are, indeed, situations where I could make an exception to that principle in order to get away from somebody, and for those situations a real call might not be timed well enough, so an app like that could be quite handy. 😊
In other words: I support the idea.
I support the idea.
Me too!
Anyone willing to donate a Symbian C++ book? 😃
THanks for the replies thus far
If you read this thread, and support the idea of this software... please show your support my posting a reply expressing your interest.
I am not a programmer, but considering some of the programm's out their, this appears to be relatively simple... 😊
It could becomes someones little pet project 😊
[QUOTE='[D]J']lol, are you kidding aren't you? This app is available since ages......

I think you haven't read this thread at all.
SounderCover gives you the ability to add a background sound to any incoming or outgoing call, giving the impression that you really are in the environment where the background sound is normally heard.
Hmm you can configure SounderCover to simulate a Phone Ring sound..... the only thing that you can't do (yet) as far as I know is to press a key to let the sound start whenever you want during a call (as t41mbi asked for).
With the current version of SounderCover in fact you can choose to start a background sound (like a phone ring) only at the beginning of a call (pressing the "down button"😉 from a person that you "don't wan't to speak to". Of course you can always record your own .wav file with 20 second of empty space so that the phone ring sound starts after 20 seconds the call is started but you can't activate it suddenly in a middle of a call.
What about mailing the developer of this software and ask to add this simple extra feature?

From the homepage:
"Is one of your mates a chronic talker that just doesn''t know when to stop? Use the Phone Ring 15s background and your friend will hear a phone ring 6 times, 15 seconds into the call. Tell him that your other phone is ringing and that you have to go"
Hrm.. that is an interesting app and thanks for the link but it was not exactly what i am asking for.. I will e-mail the developer though
I am hoping someone will manufacture an app that will get you out of situations i.e. boring meetings, when they are phyically right in front of you, not on the phone with you. A software where you can program a specified key as the "Alert Key" and it will do one of the following actions
---> emulate a phone call to the mobile phone (an actual proper ring, i know you can record a ring, then assign it to a hotkey, but the quality is not very convincing, i have tried this). It must also block incomming calls, while the app is active, because the last thing you want to happen is the phone ring why you pretend you are on it.
---> emulate a SMS message
So then you can act (with the guy/girl right in front of you) I have to be somewhere else now or "insert excuse here" ...
But thanks for the input thus far 😊

Thats from the software page. The program is similar in "nature" in that it tries to get you out of sticky situations, but as it mentions, its only helps 'during incomming/outgoing calls'
Ok sorry then I thought that's what you needed, english is not my main language so I could have msunderstood this. Anyways I tried to give my 2 cents 😊
No problem [D]J,all contributions are welcome.
i give you my support😃
alot of bragging chicks on my phone(:
