bluetooth, just data?

I'm ignorant about the bluetooth technology, but I cannot understand why it should work just for data and not for audio... I mean there's no way to enable it? Is it an hardware problem?

I think you mean the BT audio profile that is not supported in the 7650!
It is a software (firmware) problem actually that can be fixed IF Nokia actually wants to fix this!

Nokia does not see this as a problem, just as a feature the 7650 does not have!

Mmm, I'll try, sorry. I mean, I know that with the 7650 we can use bluetooth only for data, not for audio (like the 3650): so it's not possible to use cordless headset, isn't it?
Hope I explained the problem.
Thx 4 now

Right malebuffy, that was what I meant. Thx! Then if it's a firmware matter maybe we have some possibilities to enable it..

I've been hearing a rumour that Nokia will address the lack of an BT audio profile in a future firmware update for the 7650. How true it is I don't know.

I do know that when I had my old 7110 upgrading from 4.87 to 5.00 SW was a god-send as the phone was much more stable.

How authentic is the imformation? But if that's prove to be ture and Nokia will do a global upgrade the OS version, perhaps..... perhaps...

If Nokia upgrade, then N7650 will be a SOLID stable phone just like it brother N92xx series.

I trusted JAVAphone. One of the best OS application running in phones.

so the BT audio profile just a firmware problem ???

cos i heard the the BT chip for nokia 7650 that is not support BT audio profile

I read a thread in a German Nokia 7650 forum. A guy called up Nokia and asked several questions. One of them was about the BT audio profile. The question was something like "Are there any plans to update firmware to support BT audio profile?" and the Nokia guy said "It is possible, but there an currectly no plans to do so".

I've heard that the BT functionality is dependant on the bluetooth chipset in the phone - therefore not upgradable via firmaware

Can't find the article at the moment - will post a link when I've found it.
