searching through the forums i've figured out it's a good idea to upgrade my firmware, currently 2.5. it seems the advice is to take it to nokia, as i assume they don't do it for free is there any way you can do it yourself. i'm quite knowledgable about pcs. i have my phone backed up on my pc through the nokia program that comes with the phone, is this ok to not lose all my contacts etc.
any advice as to what to do next to my phone? i'd like to use more of it than i do now, all i use is the phone sms and camera, all using programs already on the phone. is there a limit to the size of memory card the phone can take?
sorry about all the questions, but i hope you can help me
thanks
can i download a wav tones to my pc?

I was checking out a MMC card from Integralmemory.com and it had a feature which would generally let you know what the max size of memory your mobile device can handle...I think you ought to check it out. What I found out was that a 3560 could only handle up to 128MB....but I don't know if there's a way to upgrade that to handle larger sizes.

I have a 256MB working fine on a 3650 (FW 3.16), and 512MB can work too. Just look on ebay but stay away from a seller called moneyman_007 (or something like that). 1GB MMCs are coming out but I don't know if the 3650 will handle it. I think maybe integralmemory.com just hasn't updated that search feature since it came out with its 256MB+ cards or they've tested to be noncompatible.
As for flashing the firmware, although I have done it on several other SE phones via a dongle , I wouldn't do it on a 3650. You can say I am knowledgeable about PCs as well but still wouldn't deal with it as the equipment would be too expensive (you would need more than a USB cable - something much more complicated I imagine). Just take it to a Nokia service center. It'll be cheaper and safer.
In order to do a firmware upgrade on your own you need a DCT 4 Flash box,i think its called Phoenix. Its pretty expensive so unless you run a Mobile shop/service outlet its not worth it.
512 and 1GB MMC do work,try www.allack.co.uk or www.tecic.com.tw
BTW:Search the forum, your questions have been answered more then once.Recycling is not really useful 😉
