was wondering what the newest firmware was?
today i went to the nokia service center and got my firmware upgraded to 3.49.2, after looking thru the forum, there is a 4.xx.x out, was wondering where i can get that one.
the service center i went to was in huntingdon, cambs.
kinda pissed off since i wasted my time going there for the upgrade, and they didn't even do anything, since i already had that firmawre in the phone.

If you went to Communicade in Hungtingdon the newest firware is :
V4.09.1 26-02-04 NHL-10.
This is what my own 6600 was flashed to about a month ago when I took it there.
The only thing I can think of is that you may have an Orange Handset, if so they've flashed it to Oranges highest firmware.
You should have asked for the very latest, regardless of operator name.

do they upgrade orange uk to the 4.09.1 firmware? or am i out of luck?

i had to go to peterborough to get it flashed w/ 4.09.1 since huntingdon couldn't give it to me since i was on orange. but it was well worth it since i got rid of all the orange crap that was put into my phone!

Hmmm, it's weird they couldn't or wouldn't do it for you at Communicaid. Luckyily I didn't have that problem as mine is from O2.
Atleast you've got it now and it's working well. Now you'll come across the things you won't like about the new firmware :redface:

Are you sure that's applicable to the 6600? I searched and didn't find the 5.22 listed against the 6600 (only 4.09.1). I hope this one's true!
well there are alot of things i do like about the new firmware, themes do not take forever to load, and the manager is alot faster also. haven't found anything i do not like yet. but i am really glad to get rid of the orange software, screensaver, all the goto links. for me it was well worth it
