I have an old laptop that I'd like to be able to IRC with from a bit further away, and I can't be bothered to get a wlan card for it and my PC. so I'm wondering: is there a way to share my pc's net connection with the laptop using the 3650 as a router in between? I'd need something that will allow me to route net traffick over the IR connection on the laptop to the phone, then have the phone route that over bluetooth to the PC and from thereon to the internet. I realize it's not the best of ways to do it (wlan would be far better), but is it possible?

Okay.. you can�t be bothered to buy Wlan, I can understand that...
Although, if you have a Centrino Laptop there�s WLan build in.
And you can get WLan Dongles very cheap these days...
And 11MBit Wlan Cards for around 20�...
So it isn�t soo expensive...
On the ohter hand:
Either get another BT-Dongle and connect PC and Laptop directly via BT... 😃
Or just get a 10 Meter Lan-Cable because, if you have to use your IR Port on the Laptop, you can�t move while surfing the web anyway, so a cable should not really bother you...
well, the BT dongle isn't actually such a bad idea. Except wait, I don't have USB on that laptop. (it really is old) Also, I have an ethernet adapter for it, but that too is an old model that requires an adapter before you can plug an ethernet cable in. The adapter is broken, I can't find a new one. Also, I'd need to run a cable along the outer wall upstairs, and the window there is sealed and can not be opened, and making holes in the wall is not really an option I'm afraid...
Again, I know wlan is a better alternative, and that's what I'll probably go for, but the geek in me would like to know if there's a way to use the phone as a router...

i know they make pcmcia bluetooth adapters. i would check pricewatch.com for a good price on one.
