Right you guys - here are some questions which will not tax you at all:
I've ben deliberating over 6600vs6230 for ages and have decided that the 6600 is a far more exciting prospect. I recon its a much more powerfull tool provided it is used well.
Firstly does the phone come with a way of connecting it to the PC so that the software can get onto it?
If you wanted to tell someone what the most useful features/additional programs for the 6600 what would they be and where can I get them?
Sorry to ask such basic questions.
Any other tips/advice greatfully recieved.
You need to buy a Bluetooth or iR dongle to connect to pc (Cheap now they are so common). Or use a card reader (which is a pain,as mmc is under battery).
There is not one single app that could be recomended as there are so many!
(Think of that as a positive).
For a list of many apps (but certainly not all) go to the Shop above, which is obviously where you could get them for you last question).
😊
Many thanks.
Gonna get the phone tomorrow o2 online!
Hope that all these dreaded bugs don't crush my curiosity.
What's firmware and how do I update it?
Thanks

Most of the buggy phones seem to be on Orange (Funny that) as they have there own firmware version,) my firmware is still the original v3.42.1,as i have had no problems with it (In nearly a year, touch wood) and the new one has a lot of restrictions (and still problems) so I have no need to upgrade.
*#0000# to check firmware when you get (which should be the new one v4.09.1
Check for dead pixels on display before leaving shop/or if delivered,as soon as out the box. (search this forum for more info on that)
😊

Elton, I'm not clear on that one, although I haven't tried using my mmc readers on my pc, they seem to work fine on my mac (just rename the card so it has a set name and try a plug/unplug). I thought most readers would support bus power so the mmc shouldn't have a problem. What's the exact issue w/ using a card reader and the mmc 'being under battery' that you're talking about ?

I mean its a pain, coz you have to turn the phone off, remove battery cover, remove battery and only then can you remove mmc. 😊
