can anyone tell me how much RAM is available for the user on the 7610 as i'm having to reconsider which phone im getting due to the Sendo X's limited RAM.

I'm a little confused about this. But as I understand it, the phone has 8mb internal flash, about 12mb availible ram and probably some rom for the os. Am I right?

It has [Flash] ROM for the operating system, etc. It has Dynamic RAM (DRAM) for application run-time memory. It has Flash RAM for storage (file system). It has optional Flash RAM (or could be ROM, too, really) for additional storage through the memory card.

RAM = Random Access Memory
ROM = Read-Only Memory

more or less there is 64+8=72mb available to you to install apps ,music, etc...
obviously if you get a bigger rsmmc you can have more space.
