File splitter for S60 phones?

Just wondering if there are any programs out there that will let you split a file into several parts so you can MMS or BT these to another phone, which could then reassemble the various parts into the original file.

I'm asking because the size of a message is limited to the amount of free space on your phones internal memory and if a big file (like a 60Mb movie) tries to be sent by BT it has to first go to your mailbox and this always fails seeing as the phones memory is only 4Mbs on my phone (I have an N-Gage).

There are various apps like this for PC's (WinSplit being an excellent choice as it lets you create CRC files and batch files [which let you recombine the pieces without the need for the original program on the destination PC]) but this would be very handy on my phone

Cheers

P.S. Nice site, whoevers running it, 😃

I don't think that the application you are looking for exist but there might be an alternative solution to your problem. You can use PC Suite or Epocware's PC File Manager to transfer files directly to the MMC.

I know this but what i'm looking for is some way to transfer large files when i'm "out-and-about"

A program that moved the C:\system\Mail folder to the E: drive would also be good

The only S60 phone that can't store the inbox on the MMC(E😊 is the N-Gage.All other S60 devices can.Read the manual.

Neither can the 7650 (because it hasn't got one), nor the N-Gage QD. 😉
