at http://www.inf.u-szeged.hu/symbian-gcc/ you can find the result of our efforts to improve the official Symbian build of GCC.
We were tired of bumping into internal compiler errors, especially when compiling for Thumb with optimizations enabled. Therefore, we tried various ways to make a better compiler. We managed to produce three different versions of GCC, which produce, to our best knowledge, code compatible with and better than the official Symbian build. These new versions are based on GCC versions 2.9 (Symbian build), 2.95.3 and 3.0.
On the website you can download all the sources and also binaries precompiled for Cygwin 98r2. Please give us feedback if you find them useful.
We hope our results will be useful for all of those, who would like to produce better code for their Symbian devices.
