I have a 6600 and its crashed. Badly. You turn it on and the nokia logo flashes up, disappears, the comes up again. Does this 3 or 4 times then turns its self off. Its done it before and I have been unable to turn it in for a few hours, than it starts up ok. But this time I have not been able to turn it on for 2 days. Tried removing sim and memory cards as before (had to humor the stupid woman at vodafone in the uk, they wont do anything service wise till I return to the UK as I am currently in Germany) but have no luck with it. I want to know if this happens regular and if anyone else experiences there handsets randomly restarting. And If I have to have flashed will I lose all the stuff in phone memory?

Hello. You might want to try this out. I found it from some forum.
"My Nokia 6600 was flaking out. So I tried the usual codes to reset the device because I wanted to make it factory-fresh and clean as a whistle.
*#7370# didn't cut the mustard -- my contacts, calendars, voice commands, and everything else was still there. Very distressing. I tried with and without MMC, performed restores, did everything I could. No matter what voodoo I tried, it was in vain.
Then I discovered something via deep searches with my Google Jedi Magic (Thanks Rael et al) I discovered the very nugget that did the job right!
Note: You will lose everything on your 6600: contacts, applications, tones, everything. It will be like pulling it fresh out of the box.
With the handset off -- I had the MMC out, too -- press and hold Talk (the Green action key on the left) + the numeral 3 on the keypad + the * key. Then, while keeeping all those fingers in place, using all of your contortionist "I can't believe I'm not in the circus" means, turn the handset back on. The phone will start up. Keep holding those keys down until the "Formatting" dialog appears. You'll see the background screen act as a progress bar as you watch your 6600 format your worries away.
Once complete, power up the handset again and enjoy life as a brand-new 6600 owner. 😃
P.s. Now the weird news... My voice commands still do not work! The joke is on me, I guess. "
I hope that helps.

Be sure to have a full battery or better yet look at the sticky "Full Phone Formatting" under Nokia 6600.
