Hi, anyone know whether Nokia's gonna release new covers for the QD? Or any third party companies doing covers for the QD like Allack? I've checked out Allack's site and boy i agree with the reviews that most of them are mighty FINE, especially the "Flame" cover. But unfortunately those are for the ngage not the QD, and from what i see the QD has this rubber grip around it so removing the cover won't be easy i think. But anyway does anyone have any scoops or digs into this? Would appreciate all the info available 😊
Btw, i read the thread about protecting the N-gage screen. Since the worry of not being able to change the cover on the QD is there, i think the need to protect the QD screen is even more pertinent. Anyone got scoops on QD covers or screen protectors, especially if there are screenshots for them online?
Thanx 😊
Go to Gamestop.com and look at N-Gage QD acessories for 2 new covers. Nokia also has orange and purple colors, though I'm not sure for what regions. 3rd party covers will definitely be available, but you'll have to look around for those a little while after the release of the QD.
As for protecting the screen, go to Gamestop.com and look at the holster(you can put the QD in backwards to protect the screen), look at the N-GAge QD holder and the faceplates. You can buy extra faceplates incase your screen gets scratches, you can just keep your N-Gage QD in the QD holder they offer, or the holster might help.
for the screen protection I ordered a Brando Workshop screen protector (a Hong Kong site that sell quality screen protector for PDA). This is the model for N-gage but I hope that it will fit the N-gage QD as it seems to be the same screen size. I will tell you when I get it.
I got a screen protector from Brando Workshop for my Palm Tungsten T and it's amazing quality, it don't use glue (electrostatic) washable, removable (but the electrostatic force is strong enough), anti scratch, dust prevention and anti light reflection (unpolished surface that make a better writing too) so I hope that the n-gage model will be the same quality.
OOh that sounds cool, yeah lemme know when u get it. The anti-static part sounds really cool, coz i know my previous screen protector left a layer of glue on my old Palm 515, and that got me REALLY pissed...
But in the meantime any website i can see their products and stuff?
Thanx for the info btw!
it can be found here http://shop.brando.com.hk
I got a standard screen protector for my Tungsten T and it's great, now there is ultra clear screen proctection and they seems not to be rugged on the writting side.
Trust me, there is only one piece but you won't need to change it as it's really strong and convenient.
As it's shipped in a simple letter it pass through custom check.
Now you have to choose if you want a clear or a anti-glare protection. I should receive the proctection for the N-gage (still hope it will fit the n-gage QD) in 5-10 days then I will let you know.
well I received my screen protector an the n-gage version is made for the original n-gage as it as round edge, it's make to totaly cover the screen, even the part that are not for the screen. So I cut of uneeded part but I let a little margin. As the n-gage QD is not totaly flat (look a little it's curved at the up and down of the screen, the screen protector is not totaly on the screen (the protector is flexible but quite hard too) so I think that i'll have to cut to the exact size of the screen... to make it fit perfectly...
So maybe I'll wait for a n-gage QD version.
Thanx for the update Le Zouave. Looks like i'll be visiting Brando's site alot more often now 😊
Was telling my friend about Le Zouave's reccommendation so he went to visit the site and told me he wasn't impressed. Upon questioning i found out he was looking at the wrong product all along, and it occured to me that if he could get confused, someone else might too. So just thought i'd put the link in here for everyone to quickly and easily get to.

Thanx again to Le Zouave. :icon14:
has anyone actually removed the front cover from the n-gage QD ? - i know there are two clips at the to near the headset and charger ports but when i loosen them its seem as though something is holding on at the sides and i dont want to tug too hard and damage anything.

Trust me u don wanna do that... u'd void the QD warranty firstly, 2ndly y do u wanna open up the cover since i don think new QD covers are available in many countries so there isn't much need to change it, not yet anyway.
