7650 Problems. HELP needed

Hello.
I brought a 7650 from eBay about a month ago.A couple of weeks ago i decided to put a new case on it, as the current one was scratched. In putting on a new case i accidently ripped the ribbon cable.
I sent it to a Nokia specialist. No help.
So, when i got it back, i used a hot soldering iron to go accross the connections on the back of the camera part. Hey presto, i removed the old cable and had shiney new connections.
I brought a new ribbon cable from eBay and fitted it.
This is where the problem starts. with new cable fitted, it doesnt work. Ive had it charging a couple of times and the screen works. I think it could be a faulty connection somewhere but dont know. I got it to turn on once then it went off after about 3 seconds. ive checked all connections on the phone (under keypad etc), but dont know what to do.
Any help will be very much apprechiated

Well if it worked before, it must be the new cable.

Check all the connections using a multimeter set on ohms, one probe on back of ctt board and one at other end of cable, ensure new cable is exactly the same as old, some ribbon cable have twists.
Dry joints are very easy to do on tiny wires, also make sure there is no tiny solder hairs bridgng 2 contacts, sometimes, just flux with solder mixed in cause cause a short ctt.

I have had it working with the NEW ribbon cable. It worked, then when i put the phone back together, it turned off.

OK. I have been messing around with it for a while this morning.
Now, it turns on everytime, IF my finger is pressing on the ribbon cable (camera side).
I have got it to the main screen, and seen my background picture. The bigger problem is that when i do get it on, it says "insert sim card", even though the sim card is already in.

Once again, any help apprechiated
