I'm making a guess here, but since a lot of apps weren't installing on my 6600 that other ppl had no problems w/ (same firmware) that the TMO-USA mods are adversly affecting installers and other phone apps. I only get English or Spanish as a choice of languages for the phone (what does everyone else get?). Seems like this could affect text encoding and sis files b/c I'm guessing they dumped a lot of the localization files from the firmware. I really didn't need to see the insert in the box telling me the phone time format had been modified (WHY? you can change it back to sensible 24 hours in the settings). So..if someone can let me know what languages they have available and if they can install and remove viking software (like the free gps) and the micropimp/mobiluck application BY transfering via bluetooth and using the phone's built in installer w/o problems on a non-crippled phone I can at least get the techs who need new manuals to put out a trouble ticket.
Thanks in advance

Thanks, I wonder if they're all torn down to two languages. Wouldn't make much sense. Anyone got all the languages?

The phone has limited memory. All possible languages that the phone has been translated to do not fit, so they are sold with software (firmware) releases that have different languages (usually 2-3) in different regions.
An authorized Nokia service center should be able to put another language package version on your phone. They may charge for the work.

So you're saying the 6600 supports less languages than the 36xx's? I'd believe it if they put the same base memory because they have different OS versions, but don't some phones support "European" ie English, French, German, Italian, Spanish? I'm thinking it's not the total language support (I really can't imagine how you sms Chinese Traditional), but the ability to support the text mappings etc. Kinda like, you don't need to include all the menus and help files in German, Italian, and English on a phone that's French and Spanish (Probably what Andorrans get), but that you keep the base encodings and api's to let you use those languages (ex, load up a german note or text file and have it come out ok w/ or w/o hyphenations). Why is it English (GB) instead of the other way around?
