Hi Gentlemen's
I trust you are well. I have nokia 3660. In my phone instead of Anteena Sign its showing GPRS with unavailable. mean with G with / mark on it. When i restore my phone setting it come back to anteena but after some time it goes back to that sign. Which is consuming my Phone battery. Is there anyone how can guide me how can i use solve this problem. My phone goes to GPRS mode automatically.
Waiting for your reply. I am highly appricated if you can email me the solution on as well.
Best Regards

So u want GPRS connection off? Try going to Messages click options then settings then Multimedia message, turn MULTIMEDIA RECEPTION to OFF. That should take out the G up there.
Dear Kamalayan,
Thanks for your reply. I set the Mulitimedia reception to OFF its was only in home net but still its showing the G sign with / on it. I am explaining the setting below plz help. whenever i go it it sayin you must define an access point while in my mobile i don't have any access point. i don't know what is this access point.

Sir,
Using that configuration without the G up there, in my experience, I wasnt able to receive any MMS'. I hope this is not a problem with your network as well. As I dont think u should turn the G up there off. Also I dont think it consumes much of your Battery if there's no BOX around the G, cause that significe an active GPRS connection, i think.
Go to tools, Settings, connection, GPRS then GPRS connection to When needed, It must have been set to When available.
That should do it, Try to discard my previous answer too as it might hamper mms configurations.
Sir with this im assuming you have downloaded the above configuration from your network provider so dont try changing it or at least restore it to the so called correct configuration of your network.
HI Thanks for the reply, I restore my setting but when my phone start its the same setting which i did.
I don't know anything about my network. Here MMS is blocked and alot things are as well. Do you know any method by which i can get the orignal setting of my phone which it was before because when i restore the setting its the same which I did not with the phone comes.
Regards

Search the thread for more answers. If ur up to it, format the phone using #*7370#, reminder though, all your files and contacts and calendars will be deleted, and your programs too, So back it up first.
If MMS there is not allowed then just delete the configuration settings u set.
Search the thread man.
Thanks mate,
I'll search the web. Thanks alot fo your time and care.

Thats what forums are for man. I hope i helped. Good luck! 🙄
Hi mate,
I closely monitor the problem. whenever i restore my phone it works perfect. as soon as i receive any sms or any call. my 3660 anteena sign change to gprs unavailable. I have 2 sim card one is very rarely used and one is used very freqently. so i monitor whenever a call comes the sign change and if there is no call the phone works fine.
Now do you have any solution for it.
Regards,
Naaz
Man i really dont consider this a problem. But then again if its a big deal to anyone else then I hope someone else can answer this. 😃 Calling Ghostdog...

hey im having the same problem, they say that its not that a big deal since it's not connecting to gprs; The only solution I got is to hold the red phone button to force gprs to disconnect, but it would still appear whenever you make or receice a call or send and receive a sms.

I had the same problem once. All you have to do is go to nokia and ask for a software update (i think it's free, at least it was free for me). Don't forget to make a backup of all your contacts, messages, calendar notes, etc, bcause everything on the phone memory will be ereased.
