Hi chaps and chapesses

Zork 9210 is now available to download from http//www.odysseus-software.co.uk

I've also uploaded some .nim files I made to my site while I was bored.

This is 0.8 of Zork9210, but it seems to be fairly bug free, but let me know User posted image

Thanks dimitri!

Let me know how you get on, I've tested loads of games and it all seems to work, but it needs a good workout User posted image

Hi!

Id like to test Zork, but Im from Spain and my english is not very good! He, he, he! User posted image

Regards!

P.S. The things Zork needs are a wonderful pictures along the game! User posted image

Manowar - You may be able to download some games in Spanish.

Colin over at http//www.aikon.ch/ reviewed Zork and he tested it with a German language game, so if you can find a Spanish game, you will be able to play it User posted image

Unfortunatly most Infocom type games are text only, some later games has graphics but they were very poor 16 colour images. I do not plan to support graphics, but I may support sound.<font size=-1>[ This Message was edited by AndySymbian on 2001-11-23 2103 ]</font>

Andy, I downoaded the <i>Crown Jewels</i> and I get "<i>Application</i> Zork9210 / <i>Reason code</i> KERN-EXEC / <i>Reason number</i> 3" whenever I try to load a saved (sherlo.sav) game. Is there anything to do?
It would be nice to have the sound files used; $SOUND doesn't give any result - I suppose it is related to SoundBlaster commands on PC?
Finally, the typeface is for people with teally strong sight - for the moment my sight isn't that bad. When I tried to change the font, letters beame visible, but rightside text has been croped.
Else, <b>Zork</b> is a passion!

Rafe, I think it worths posting <b>Zork</b> on the frontpage?<font size=-1>[ This Message was edited by dimitri on 2001-11-25 0955 ]</font>

Yep, got to get round to it. I really shoudl do it. but am very busy with end of term work. Shouldn't even be posting this.

dimitri - for load, you must make sure you load correct game. So type "save" to save a game and "restore" to load a previous game.

You cannot use open button to load a save game! Only a .z5, .z8 or .dat file.

Let me know if save game does not work for you after this.

I am hoping to get sound working on next release User posted image

I agree fonts are hard to read - unfortunately Nokia 9210 does not have many fonts. However I cannot reproduce the "rightside text" probem on Windows emulator or Nokia 9210. Are you restarting a game with the Open Story button after changing fonts? I have changed the Font code slightly on 0.81 which I just uploaded to

Hi

Zork 9210 is now at version 0.83.

I've made some small changes in response to e-mail.

-Font handling is better (but far from perfect)
-loading and saving games should now be more intuitive.
-Reverted a silly changed that stopped v8 games such as "Windhall Cronicles" working.

Hi, Andy!
Thanks for ameliorating the typeface; it is more legible now. Although I have too little free time these days, I enjoyed Sherlock Holmes and the Crown Jewels - no serious problem encountered User posted image

Thanks for the feedback User posted image

Version 0.87 will be available tonight, and I've added a new menu that allows you to execute commands directly, such as "save", "restore", "inventory", "look" etc.

So it can save a bit of typing on the small Nokia 9210 keyboard User posted image
