Where is it?!

Please can someone tell me where (file structure wise) the tumbnail images for contacts are stored on the phone.

Thanks

Hate to spoil the party, but they are not there. I have no images in this folder (I deleted them), but the when i go to contacts, all my contact images are still there.

The phone saves a copy of the image somewhere - but where?

Thanks

Perhaps it saves a copy of the image in your contacts. So your Contacts will be 1-2kb bigger for each entry with a TN

They are originaly kept in the folder I mentioned
Hence the name IMAGES_TN, TN as in ThumbNail

The thumbnails for the Imaging application are stored in C:\Nokia\Images_Tn\ but the thumbnais for contacts are stored in the contacts database as part of the contacts data, just as it is with the 9200 series.

Images attached to contacts, which are viewable by selecting a contact and moving the joystick to the right, are not stored in the database but are loaded from the Images folder when required. That's why when you delete an image, the large view vanished from a Contact, but the thumbnail stays where it is.

To delete the contact's thumbnail, select the contact, Edit and then select 'Remove Thumbail'.

How many images do you have in your contacts? And how many (estimated) contacts do you have in your address book.

To answer you question, Yes it does store a copy of the picture in your contacts. I have around 100 contacts, none of which have pictures attached. It takes up 53kb of space.

You have less contacts than me but more than double the space.
