Whats the difference between Doom7650 and eDoom s60.
I know that the eDoom version is just one sis-file and includes the MMC-patch, but is that it?
Has eDoom s60 anything to do with the eDoom for P800/P900?
And why the **** did they convert the original shareware doom wad-file into 5 useless xwad-fils that cant be replaced with the full version doom or doom 2?
Doom7650 and eDoom s60
sorry i can only answer part of your question. The reason they converted it into 5 useless xwad files that cant be replaced with full version is because if they allowed full version to be installed they would be pirating the software. Wildpalm is actually a legit company that makes software that can be purchased. And since doom shareware is free there is no law saying they cant covert it. In the readme it also says this conversion is not affiliated or supported by ID software, who still own the rights to doom, so thats why.
If I bought a copy of Doom, why wouldn't I be allowed to use the wad from it with some free doom engine, to be able to play my copy of Doom on another device?
(or under windows, or whatever)
Specially since ID themselfs release their old engines as open source, partly to allow this...
