Removing desktop icons

I recently did a deep format on my Nokia 6600 to sort out some software failure that I experienced. Everything worked 100%, except now I have a few icons of apps on my desktop that was installed before the format. If I click them - they do absolutely nothing.

Is there a way to remove these icons from my desktop ?

Well, if you press the menu button, you go to your main menu or desktop where it shows a bunch of icons like messaging, contacts, calendar etc.

Now if you install software, it adds an icon to the desktop for that specific app. I installed some software and it gave me problems (AppArcServerThread error) and I couldn't manage to uninstall them, because it gave me some ChildInstaller error. It also affected some other software that I had on my phone.

I then did a deep format, and now all the applications that I installed works 100%, but on the desktop are still 2 icons of applications that I had on my phone that gave problems, but the applications are not installed anymore.

I just want to remove them (the icons)...

They are probably installed on MMC and not Phone memory(The hard reset formats Phone memory only).Try to locate the folder of the problematic application in E:\System\Apps and manually delete it.

I removed 2 directories within the System\Apps folder which solved the problem. Luckily my notebook has a SD card reader. Is there any way to access the read-only System folder from your phone ?

Also might wanna delete the *.sis files from system/install folder. This will remove the apps from the manager application.
