Big files via bluetooth

Can anyone tell me how to exchange large files (25-30 MB) between 2 phones via bloetooth? My friend has some .avi on his MMC and can't send me because message is stored on phone memory. How can I set phone to receive files on MMC? Some fileman maybe? Thanks...

Hi, and welcome to AAS.

You can't receive files bigger than your internal memory via Bluetooth I'm afraid. There's currently no way around this issue, AFAIK.

There is not way to recieve big files via BT from phone to phone yet but there is a way from PC to phone with using Epocwares File Manager PC FTP Birdge or maybe even PC Suite.

Are ye mad?

This is quite a simple process, it involves 2 apps, FExplorer and MsvDriveE

MsvDriveE is usually quite hard to come by but i got a copy on
So any way, install FExplorer then MsvDriveE (You know how to install apps yeah?)

Once both are installed the "fun begins, if you want to keep all the messages you had on your phone your going to have to copy over all the folders from c:\system\mail to e:\system\mail

FExplorer won't let you copy files within folders within folders, what happens is it copies the contents of a selected folder and pastes it to the current folder)

So what you do is go to C:\System (on your phone, via FExplorer) and copy Mail (press 1). Move to E:\System\Mail\ and paste (7) overriding all existing files

Then go back to C:\System\Mail\ and copy 00001001_S.
Back to E:\System\Mail\00001001_S and paste [tip * goes back to the drive select screen]

Here is where the annoyance starts
Go to C:\System\Mail\00001001_S and copy "0"
Paste this in E:\System\Mail\00001001_S\0

Repeat through all the hex numbers 0-f

You may have to repeat this for the 00100000_S folder if you use MMS but this was empty on mine.

Keep the folder C:\System\Mail as a backup, in case your MMC get corrupted or something, haven't tried to see what happens when you remove the MMC. The folders C:\System\Mail and E:\System\Mail should be identical, check their sizes via properties (#)

After all this copying remove the app MsvDriveE and delete the .sis file from the root folder of the MMC using FExplorer. If you don't do this it gets screwy

This is how I did it, any problems, just post them here

ehi man, i installed msvDriveE, but i don't know how reconfigure my mobile phone to have to save sms on memory phone. I discovered that msvDriveE couse me a problem, because when i listen music with my phone or i use something that it's installed on mmc i can't use, read and maybe receive sms.
So can u tell me how can i disinstall that app? i just disinstalled it from "manager", but it was not enough? what can i do?
thanks

not sure about the rest but
this MsvDriveE works in my ngage no problem at all
have tried sending big smart movie files and no problem at all

by the way dont think is the MsvDriveE that cause the prob regarding the music player coz the music player app will gain complete control over the mmc card while running and as for the MsvDriveE only create some folders in the mmc card one thing to note that this MsvDriveE got no GUI to see if it is running juz go to the message inbox and look out for the mmc icon on the left hand side corner hope it helps

If i play music i can't access to the mmc. so if i wanna see sms i can't, and i can't receive sms.
Abaout the topic, i saw it but in my ngage, in "message -> option -> setting -> other" i have only this:
save sent messages (yes/no)
n. of saved message (n.)

there isn't something to change the location where u want to save the message.
However this is an dangerous application (i'm talking about msvDriveE) because, as i already told you, when u play a game on mmc, when u listen music, when u use some application that is installed on mmc, u CAN'T read message, u can't access to your message. And i don't know what can appened if u listen music and u have an upcoming message!

is there some file in the phone memory that i can change (maybe txt file where is saved the path of saved message) or any kind of way to disinstall the app?
Thank to all.

hi since u think msvdriveE is dangerous and want to use the phone memory
here a solution for u
1) turn off the phone
2) take out the mmc card and startup ur phone again
3) go into the message menu and u will see a msg saying cannot access mmc card will use phone memory
4) turn off ur phone again and put in the mmc card
5) startup ur phone again and go into the message menu this time the phone will be using the phone memory no more mmc card memory😊
try it
it works for me but i still perfer using this msvDriveE no problem at all for me still able to receive sms while listen to music or playing games

I tried pasting the folders but i still dont see my old msgs. Why is this so? I need help seriously. I was told to install both FExplorer and MsvDriveE as it is important to have on an Ngage. But i hav no idea how to manage it and what the folders are for. Help me pls?

wouldnt it be easier to select your incomming message folder to be on the MMC (Message Settings).

works fine for me 😊
