Codemasters Sign Up for the N-Gage

From the dawn of time, Codemasters have been producing quality computer games for all the popular platforms. Now, the Darling Brothers have committed themselves to the Nokia N-Gage with their Colin McRae Rally Franchise due on the phone this Christmas. It shuold feature every N-Gage Bullet point - bluetooth multiplayer, shadow racing via the N-Gage Arena, lots of exciting quotes from Nokia's Marketing people in the press release, and an expected Q4 release date. Let's hope it plays better than Sega Rally does...

Codemasters Drives Onto The N-Gage With Colin McRae Rally 2005
The leading rally game series goes mobile with N-Gage Arena functionality

June 23, 2004 - Nokia, together with Codemasters, today announced that Colin McRae Rally 2005 is under development for the N-Gage platform. As the first Codemasters title for the N-Gage platform, Colin McRae Rally 2005, developed by Ideaworks3D, will bring all the gripping action from the leading rally game series together with support for racing competitions via the N-Gage Arena.

Yay! Codemaster's although have had they're share of misses, at least they're games were playable unlike some other companies that have REALLY bummer'ed and made scrap games. Finally we'll have some guaranteed to satisfy racing games on the N-Gage 😊

I would understand if the ngage had special hardware that meant no other s60 device could ever play these games.

It seems to me a bit insane to limit your market to just 1/2 devices when you you could potentially 5-10x your profit by tweaking it slightly to run on other platforms.

I realise Nokia are trying to revolutionize the handheld gaming market, but still...

I'm jealous 😞
