I have been waiting for a month and waiting for the sw upgrade for my 7650. Currently my set can only read english n filipino .... I needed chinese character recognition and better still with chinese input... when is this forthcoming? Any idea?
Asian version of software upgrade... any idea?
I will ask Nokia about it tomorrow.
Anyway i think N7650 can not read or write chinese text due to hardware setting (my guess), can be right or wrong.
As for N7110, if you are very detail, you can see some chinese character on each key pad and not in N7650.
Let me ask them and get back to you.

Ok guys, bad news for all. There will be no upgrade to enable chinese input text for N7650.
They just replied my mail. I have attrach the replied mail to all.

Hi, I am new to this forum, I emailed Nokia also and this is what it replied:
"Thank you for your email. In response to your email, Nokia will be providing software upgrade for Chinese input on Nokia 7650. However, currently the software for the phone to perform Chinese input has not been made available yet. Nokia is yet to determine the exact date for the said software. Good news! Just had my unit updraded to the chinese version. Just to let you guys know that after upgrading to chinese, you will no longer have english T9 input capability. On the other hand, you can read and input chinese for messaging and contacts.
p.s I think the warranty will be void after upgrading i to chinese since it was not done by authorise service center. I just couldn't wait any longer.
btw, those of u using gprs to check email and surfing, make sure to check the charges from your operator. I just got my bill for last month. GPRS charges alone cost me RM295. :cry:
