How to download tones?

I havent got a IR port or bluetooth on my comp so i rely on getting things to my phone by uploading them to my website and getting them via WAP, this has worked fine for images but i can't make it work for ring tones, when i try to download a *.wav file it just staes "not acceptable". Any idea of other formats which the WAP browser would accept? Or any other way I could get the tone to my phone?

i also had that specific problem with .wav files. I think it has nothing to do with file trasnfer as you say you received it in your inbox, but just in case try emailing .mid files because if you can read .mid files from your inbox then it means that all you have to do is to make sure the wav files are:
bit rate: 176 kbps aprox
8 bit
stereo
audio sample rate 11khz
format pcm

once you convert your mp3 files or other files to the correct .wav format you will find out that it works fine.

basically there is a specific format of .wav that the phone can read.

hope it helps!

You could try using midi files for ring tunes instead!
Alternatively, have you tried e-mailing them to your phone, rather than WAP?

I think someone posted a previous message on how to use SeleQ to move a wav file into the ring tones directory. Have a look for that.

The WAP browser handles .wav files just fine. You have to configure the mime type for the .wav files correctly in the web server side. Use "audio/x-wav".
