upgrading of series 60 on 3660

i was wondering if the new phone are more like computers in that they use software (the series 60 platform) like computers use windows, will there be a chance to upgrade to newer versions of series 60.

or is it just a whole scam to constently get us to buy new phones.... hope not i really love my nokia 😃

Hi!
Yes, you can upgrade the SW, but to do it you have to go to the shop where you bought it (o2, vodaphone, carphonewarehouse) and tell them that the phone has some fault (you can make it up). Or just say that is too slow. Ask them to re-flash it. When they re-flash the phone they will use the latest version that the manufacturer has deliver to them. This version most probably will be newer than the one you have.
Remember to back up your data first, flashing deletes everything.
you can check the SW version of your phone by pressing *#0000#

You can't upgrade the OS or the UI version,yet.luiverco is talking about firmware upgrades which are minor upgrades and bugfixes for the current OS (Symbian 6.1) and UI (Series 60 1.2)version
