No GPRS signal, but configuration is OK

Hi, I have configured the access point that my operator gave me in order to have gprs, everything is the same that my friends phone, but I only see the antena signal and there is no "G" signal, but in my friends phone appears the G. I think maybe it is because I brought this phone from the USA to my country, and there are 2 access points already configured (t-zones) and they are are protected, when I want to edit those access points it says: unable to edit, protected access point. Any Ideas how I can have the gprs signal? thanks.

Try going to tools then connection then set gprs option to when available...

I already tried that but it doesnt work

Which phone do you have, exactly? Who's the local operator? Do they have GPRS coverage for the area where you are (do other phones with the same operator's SIM & settings work there)?

Also, the T-Mobil USA might have locked the access point settings so that, only their settings apply, which means you must use a T-Mobil USA SIM card for GPRS (might get expensive with international roaming charges).

You could try having the phone reflashed with "generic" firmware at an authorized Nokia service center near you.

I have the nokia 3650, and yes there is GPRS coverage in my area (Bolivia). And I can't have the phone reflashed with generic firmware because there aren/t authorized nokia service centers around here.
