Touchscreen Lock Up

Team,

My P900 has taken to locking the touchscreen when opening the flip. It is not (as far as I can tell) set to do so. It doesn't do it everytime - but it's doing it more often now (at least every other time). It doesn't unlock with the scroll wheel - it stays locked until you close the flip, leave it for a bit, then re-open the flip

I do have Handy Day 2004 set to start whenever the flip is opened.

I'm assuming that it the screen is locked rather than faulty as the battery icon at the bottom of the screen is "indented" .

Anyone come across this - and a cure ?

solution:

go to your "configuratio" in your phone, ->device lock set to "at power on"

Device lock is set to "Off", Sim card lock to "off".

The only thing that is checked is the Automatic Key Lock (I believe this only locks the phone keys in "flip closed" mode.)

But thanks anyway.

In my case, it's the screen protector which is pushing down on the screen at the corner and continuously activating the battery icon. I just jiggle my screen protector around a little, and it unpresses, and the touchscreen resumes function.

Interesting, I've just got it back from repair by Vodafone today (under warranty) - they say they've updated the firmware to cure it but I thought I had the latest version anyway.

They've removed (and not returned) my screen protecter so I suppose that could have been the cause or at least contributory.

I've ordered a new one (Martin Fields this time) as I don't want to risk scratching the screen over time - my Psion 5 screen was a right state when I finished with it. What brand is your screen protector.

To be fair to Vodafone, the phone was at least returned with all it's applications intact, my screensavers and wallpaper still installed and my contacts and diary undamaged.
