6600 replaceable faceplates

I noticed many different faceplate/batter cover replacement sets for the 6600 on eBay. Does anyone know how easy these are to install? I didn't think the 6600 had removeable faceplates.

It's easy, just open the battery cover, insert a small screwdriver into the two holes to release the pressure, then what I do is use a guitar pick to slide around the cover from top to bottom. Comes off in <1min

Lol "guitar pick " or if you dont have one of these handy,a credit card is just as good. 😊

But be very careful as it is not really design for us to take of and replace like express-on covers are. Service centres have a special jig/tool in order to remove the cover and back.
If you do decide to do this then be very careful as you invalidating your warranty.

Where do you get what?
The other facias? In the original post the enqiry was about ones available on ebay, but I expect you should be able to buy them online in other places.
The service centre jig?
No idea, these are made for the servicing of the whole phone not just for the replacement of fascias and therefore cost more money than makes sense for making your phone look good.

Which 2 holes? THe ones at the top or the bottom? I have been trying both for a while and the cover is not coming loose.

ANy advise would be appreciated.

Thanks, Michael

The two holes paralell with the bottom of the battery, the best thing to stick in here is 2 cocktail sticks or match sticks to avoid damage, just push them in as hard as you can holding the phone at the sides and NOT by the front cover which you are trying to remove.

The 6620 will not take any of the faceplates available on-line! I believe the 6600s are able to except the faceplates, but not the 6620.
Yes I did attempt to take my OEM faceplate off on my 6620, and you can unlatch the bottom 2 clips on each side. But when you try to loosen the rest of the case it will start pulling out the internal board. Man...talk about nerve recking, $300.00 and I just wanted to put a rubberized cover on it because the OEM plate is damn slippery! Are there any phoneskins available for the 6600/6620? If so can someone help me out. Thanks and I hope I stopped alot of you from breaking your phones. Plus the warranty would be noll n void after you switch out the plates.

Thanks 4 the tip pipz!!!! i been toyin' around my phone 4 two days on how to remove the faceplate.. now i got it ....
