FAQ on P900 and P910i

Hi all!

Is there anybody who can tell me if I can connect a usb gps receiver to a P900?
And if that is possibile, please tell me what I need for doing this.

Another problem: where cand I find documentation about developing applications for P900, the sdk for this phone, the software for downloading my applications to P900....

I first wanted to make my project for nokia 6600 and for nokia I found everythig on their site but sony ericsson seams not having such informations.

You forgot to mention whether it has TCP/IP or if it uses some other method for IP data on the GPRS networks.

for Bluetooth (assuming that you already paired your Px00 and your PC and configured the connection for being used without confirmation), simply enable appropriate Bluetooth serial ports (usually COM3 and COM4) on your PC using "Phone Connection Link" Preferences. With newer BT software you can simply select "Quick Connect -> Serial Port" and choose the Px00 from the devices list. As soon the Bluetooth icon on your P800/P900 shows that the communication has been established, you can launch any Internet program on your Px00 and start using the Internet connection of your PC.

for USB connection, simply put your phone on its craddle paying attention that no Internet connection on your phone is active. Your phone will use the Internet connection of your PC automatically.

Note: Not every program is able to use your PC's connection. While most 3rd party programs work that way without any problems, the built in WWW browser and the Messaging application work with GPRS/dial-up connection of your phone only. Use Opera and some third party email program (like EmailViewer) instead.

sorry to hijack - but struggling to find any info on how to gps enable my 910i? SonyE don't know - and Tom Tom are being non-commital - the Tom Tom mobile proposition looks ideal - but will it work?

I have a 1.5 GHz powerpc G4 and I run 10.3.5. I have isync 1.5, and all the apple aplications are the latest versions. I also have a .mac account.
I recently bought a sony ericsson P900 mobile phone with the sole purpose of being able to sync my address book and to dos and calendar. I checked on your website and it says you suport this phone.
I can synchronise the address book no problem between both devices. But I can't sync the ical with the phone. The only way to install info is from the computer to the phone when you choose 'reset all devices' from the devices menu.

How can I solve this problem?

P.S. the phone has been paired to the computer, appears on the isync window and both devices communicate via bluetooth.

Whats the difference between P900 n P910i except for the shape? Could hardly figure out from the features listed at sony's site why P910i is more expensive than P900? 😞

If a comparison between the PHONES KEY FEATURES could be listed out would appreciate same so as to decide to get which one!

Basically these are the main differences;

Qwerty thumboard in the back of the keypad
Brighter 262k color screen (vs. 65k)
MStick DUO Pro support of 1gb (vs. DUO 128mb)
Internal 64mb user memory + 32 RAM (vs. 16+16)

And also some software differences (like the support for HTML e-mail)

My clock on the flip open mode is not giving me the right time. but when i go to set the time, it is showing the right time. How can i fix it.

262k color can be only accessed by camera and picture viewer ) all another view only 65k )))) hehehehe!!

After flashing p900 into p910 , p900 can read 1 gb cardzzzzz!...)

I was not so safe and decided to reset the phone. Turns out that it took the phone back to the Chinese. I cannot ready anything. I was able to play w/ the phone before the reset. Can anyone advise how I can get the phone working again (in English)? Would changing the text fix the problem?

I didn't make a backup as well. I thought it was going to reset in English, but unfortunately that didn't happen.

Any help would be TRULY appreciated.
