P900 by Bluetooth backup problems

Hi

I cannot backup my P900 to notebook using Bluetooth, please help, I live in Chile and down here there is not support from Sony Ericsson

I am not an expert, but I love to use gadgets, and here in Chile I have not found support for doing that task.

The people from a local reseller of the Bluetooth D-Link USB adaptor, helped a lot and installed the adaptor in my Toshiba notebook, and it is working Ok for the synchronizations. They cannot help with the P900, just help with the Bluetooth adapter.

The problem is that in the Phone Connection Monitor, the option Backup and Restore cannot be clicked because it appears in a sort of grey colour. The synchronization options appears in black colours, and if I click it, the sinch happens.

I cannot click the Backup and Restore option.

I can go into the files in the P900 and select files that I copy in my notebook,
( with the cradle I can backup and restore )

I do have accesss and connections between computer and P900 with Bluetootth,
But dont know how to have back ups and restore using Bluetooth .

Please any help or suggestion

Thanks

Thats because the only way you can backup and restore the phone is by using the cradle.

On my nokia 3650 you can do a backup using bluetooth, but sometimes it will give you an error that a file is in use and it cannot be backed up, since the phone is always turned on to be able to use bluetooth in the first place.

On the P900 however, the phone is turned of during the backup and restore process to ensure that all files are copied properly. So this can only be done using the cradle, since it is able to connect to the phone using hardware connections.

Bluetooth backup is not available, bacause as soon as the phone is turned off, the connection to the pc will be lost. 😊

So dont worry about it. Thats just how things work. And I think its a much better way to backup files with the phone turned off, insted of getting all those errors that some files are in use and cannot be backed up properly.
