Hallo,

Just bought a nokia 6600 😉

3 questions:

1. Is there a possibility to lock the keypad after e.g. 30 sec.? I now manualy have to lock the keypad after each use and mostly i forget an so this trigers accedently pressing keys. My former phones had this functionality on by default 😉

2. The screen goes into suspense mode/screensaver mode very quickly. Where can ik change this? Now its is about 10 sec. i think.

3. When connected ok i gat a letter G in the top left of the screen below the connection state. How do i get ridt of this letter?

Hope somebody can help.

1. The software Autolock will lock your keyboard.

2. There is a function i FExplorer (freeware) in Tools called Turn light on wich will light your screen an keep it on as long as the software is running in the background. But you'll get used to the 10 secs and hit the thumbstick if you want to keep it lit whilst thinking...

3. The letter G stands for GPRS and is lit when you are connected, some software is poor att disconnecting. You can set your phone to disconnect automaticly after 1 minute, I belive default is 5 minutes. Considering whats GPRS means, you only pay for data transferred.

If you hold down the Red button it will end all open connections too.

question 2: go to: Menu -> Instrum -> Settings -> Phone -> 3rd Option in the list -> Timeout Screensaver

Also read the User Guide that comes with phone, most of your questions (except no.1) is answered there. I know its a bore going through it but trust me, its worth it as the 6600 has many features you should be aware off. 😎

1) This function is not possible without installing extra software on the phone. The best (and freeware) I have found is JJLKeyLock by Jari Laaksonen.
www.iki.fi/jari.laaksonenJust realised this link no longer works for Jari's Site. Not Sure what the new site address is.

2) Do you mean the time it takes for screensaver to come on OR the amount of time before the backlight / keypad light goes out?
If you mean the screensaver then go in to the folder called Tools, select Settings then Phone. Move down to Display and you get the option to adjust the screensaver timeout.

If you mean the amount of time the backlight / keypad light is on then this is not adjustable

3) The letter G means there is a GPRS signal avaliable, it doesnt mean you are using it though. If any software requires GPRS then a box will appear around the letter G and it will flash as it connects. You can goto the Tools, Settings, GRPS and change the option to "When needed" if you really dont want the letter G.
