Hi!

First off; Sorry for my bad english!

How is it possible to change the ringing tone on 6600??? I`m trying to personalise the General profile, but it wont change form the standard Nokia tune even when a different ringing tone is displayed (under the General profile). :frown:

Hi,

You're doing it the right way :? I guess you don't forget to select the tone which is highlighted

No, but all of the standard tones works fine. It`s just when I select a polytone the Nokia tune is played instead.

Anyone know whats wrong?

i had this problem on my 3650 so im not sure it will be the same on a 6600 but it might be worth a try so here goes , if your polly ringtone is saved on your memory card and your sound recorder is set to phone memory then you will have to change sound recorder to memory card in use . hope this makes sense . if its the same as a 3650 then you need to have the ' memory in use ' feature set to the same memory that the ringtone is on . let me know if it works .Also you must make sure that the ringtone is stored in the digital folder

Here's how you can select any type of sound for your ringing tone.
I had a same problem, and I read the User Manual where this is explained.
I don't see the point why NOKIA changed the things around as they were in 7650.
You have to put sound(midi,wav,mp3) files in Digital Sound's folder, not Tones.Very stupid, and now I have a question what for is than Tones folder when it's useless?

I hope I helped.

I had this problem..

When u copied the file to the phone, did you file it under "digital Sounds"..?

I encounter this problem everyonce in a while. I think it has something to do with ram. If its occupied the wav file wont be able to load on to the ram because theres not much free space therefore giving off the default sound priority. So maybe its not played directly from the MMC but is loaded on the RAM first. :? So whenever i have time I use appman to free unused memory or if that doesnt help much, restart the phone. I hope some one can confirm this.

when a call comes in and you have your phone set to ring to a wav file, the phone must call in the real one player to play it (but automatically so there's no visual indication). Now the real one player functions much like the ultra MP3 player, meaning it doesnt really keep those wav files on its own memory, but only their location. the problem you mentioned usually happens when you erase and move these wav files from phone memory to memory card and vice versa. so if this happens again, you must first go to gallery, find the wav file you want and click on it and play it there. this way real one now remembers where the file is located. do this with your all other wav files. Hope this helps 😊

Real One plays wav files? Really?

Sorry, not real one player, but the program that plays the wav files and polyphonic sound when you click on them in the gallery. I think its the Recorder?
