Need a bit of help

I just inherited a 7650, and need to replace the housing, I am told that this is a bit of a mission, but I have got a cover and the tools for the job, any tips on doing it would be appreciated. I also notice that the joystick has lost the rubber cover, how would I go about replacing it, again any help would be great 
