I know this is a 6600 forum .... BUT, I'm thinking of getting either a 6600 or a 7610 ... looking at the feature list, it seems the 6600 still has a little more power (minus the megapixel camera) ... the keys on both of them are a bit funkey, but I'm not worried about that --
What is your guys' opinion? Should I go for the "higher model" 7610 or stick with the hearty 7610?
I think the 7610 is probably marginally better, but it does depend on whether you like the design and feel in the hand. The 7610 does have more memory and a faster processor IIRC.
I don't consider the keys on the 6600 to be too funky. It took a bit of getting used to, but you become proficient very quickly. The 76xx has a lot of the features I wish the 6600 had, and I think my major objection to it is appearence. You may like it, you may not. I think the 6600 works anywhere as a 60 series phone it's the 'universal model' (it works anywhere and still looks cool enough). The 3xxx models are the fisher-price phones as far as I can see. Sure, they make great phones, but they are slightly unwieldy have ultra-funky keys, and are more like the old matrix 7xxx green flip (I forget the model) in appeal..almost like they decided to run a test phone as a 3xxx...essentially it's hard to take some people seriously when they whip one of those out. The 76xx just has that...well you know..yakuza special thing going for it. It looks high tech w/ a little bit of eastern thrown in. Equally at home on w/ your rx6 motorcycle or sitting next to the bonzai tree in your cubicle (this isn't racist this is what you see around here), but it's almost a limitted environment..Don't pull that thing out in a hog bar 😉.

Plus,it runs a newer Series 60 version so it supports the new accessories like the Nokia Bluetooth keyboard.
