I live in the US and travel to Europe fairly frequently. I've been contemplating getting the QD, but I just noticed that there are 2 different models with different bands. It looks like one is for the US and the other is for Europe. Are they not world-phones? If I get the US one, will it not work in Europe? I have a tri-band 6600, and I don't want to lose my coverage.

yep, dual bnd 900/1800 or 900/1900, not world phones. You;d need an original N-Gage for that...

That's what I was afraid of. In tha case...I'm new to this whole GSM-thing. If I buy a QD, do I need to activate it, or do I just pop my SIM card into it when I want to use it as a phone here in the states, and put the SIM card into my 6600 when I go overseas? Is it as simple as it sounds?
as long as the phone is set to your service provider or unlocked, all you need to do is put in the simcard and your set
