QD shutting itself down during gameplay

Have any of you experienced your N-Gage shutting itself off in the midst of a gaming session?

I have, three times. The phone just turns off without warning. I think it is the game card (Tomb Raider) that is the problem. It has only happened while running that game so far.

But, could it be something else? Has anyone's device behaved in a similar way? :?

My N-Gage behaved in the same way with games on the card. What worked for me was to format the MMC using the phone and then re-install everything, problem cured.

He's having troubles on the original gamecards and not on the cracked ones.

Read his post one more... 😃

Have you installed any apps on the C: of the N-gage recently? You might have a psiloc and a symbian ware app running at the same time which may be incompartable...

When ever i get errors pop up i usually uninstall the most recently installed app.. and if it is the app then ill have to look for a different version.

That might help...

Well, it could have been the pvplayer... I've now uninstalled it, never used it anyway. I'll have to see if it happens again but it hasn't yet. Hope you're right about the app issue, da22a...

And yes, I only play legally, as I want to be able to play games in the future too! 😃

The only times I've had my phone shut off suddenly were (a) when I was trying to run down the battery to do a few full charge/discharge cycles (as recommended), and (b) doing testing on PicoDrive to see what games worked.

Actually, after my phone restarted I got a crazy error message about App.Main() closed or whatever, but another reboot got rid of that (probably just some bad temp files kicking around that needed cleaning out).
