Bluetooth Headset Problems

Can anyone help me with this problem? It's driving me mad!!!

I am using my Nokia 6600 with a Sony Ericsson HBH-60 headset and find that the bluetooth connection randomly drops for no reason. Sometimes it happens after the connection has been active for hours, sometimes after just a few minutes.

It's a real problem when driving, as I activate the bluetooth connection before I set off, but can't count on it lasting the journey - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I know that it isn't a range problem - the phone can be sat right next to me when it happens.

I've also tried changing the phone (I took the first one back, thinking it was faulty) and have changed the headset (I started off using a Nokia HDW-2.

Is this normal for the 6600 or have I still got a faulty phone or headset?

Any help / advice would be much appreciated!

It's normal for the bluetooth headset to disconnect after a period of time. Normally it takes about 2 minutes of inactivity before it disconnects. This is actually a battery saving feature that comes with most bluetooth sets in the market. As you would notice, active bluetooth connections drains your phone battery very rapidly. So.. dont worry about it.

Did you try connecting to the headset with the correct procedure ? that is first switch on the headset, then go to menu - connections-bluetooth and then connect to HBH. That way the connection will remain live no matter what happens... I use my 6600 with HBH 65 for quite some time by this procedure. It never drops conncetion. 😉
