I'm having trouble connecting my 6600 to my PC using bluetooth. I'm using a Belkin bluetooth dongle and Belkin software/driver, together with mRouter.
I have successfully paired by PC and 6600, but everytime I try to establish a serial port connection, it connects only briefly before I get this message:
"The Bluetooth Serial Port connection failed: The remote device closed the connection"
I assume that the "remote device" is my 6600, but I have no idea how to resolve this. I have tried re-installing the bluetooth dongle and software, but it makes no difference. Any ideas?

Hi,
I have been having exactly the same problem with the same gear. I have looked on the forum for a solution but to date I can't get any to work.
I take it that you are connecting your bluetooth device via usb? If so is this via a usb hub or straight into the pc. Mines using a hub I don't know if that will make a difference?
I was at the stage that you are where I get "The Bluetooth Serial Port connection failed: The remote device closed the connection" but after following a guide I downloaded I know can't even get the pc or phone to recognise each other at all!!
I just get the error message "no bluetooth device found"
I'm sorry I can't be of anymore assistance but I just wanted you to know that you are not the only one!!
One bit of advice I have purchased a mmc card reader which is great for transferring files without the need for bluetooth 😃 😃

Thanks for your reply - it's good to know that I'm not alone! I've tried connecting my dongle directly to my PC and via my USB hub - the same problem occurs whichever method I use.
Let's hope someone else has found a cure for this problem - before we both go mad!!!
"The Bluetooth Serial Port connection failed: The remote device closed the connection"
I have a Dell Latitude D505 with built-in Bluetooth, and that's the same problem I've been having. for some reason, when I first got the phone, I got the error message, then after a few seconds the connection would be made between the phone and computer and everything was fine. Now, I get the error message but it doesn't work. I've tried changing the COM ports and many other things in my BT configuration, but no-go. I'm down to using IR to synch with my PC.
Hopefully this will be fixed in a firmware update or something, because Nokia really did a crappy job of implementing BT in this phone, and I haven't seen anyone on this board as well as others who has a solution other than "keep trying and it may work".
Try to add another serial port like this:
http://www.anotherurl.com/library/Nokia7650.htm .
dont know if it works.
Same all, same all,
the Nokia6600 is a real bitch in connectability. Have tried on a LatitudeD505 with XPProfessional and followed all instructions I could find on the Web, i.e. port match etc. All goes well and matches, the devices pair all right until you attempt to connect the serial port and this darn message comes up that "The remote device closed the connection". Ok, after several reinstalls of all drivers, PCSuite and so forth, still no go. Tried a friend's Win2K box with a Belkien USB dongle then, well, same prob. I guess it's just not made to work.
I suggest it would be a phone problem, i.e. that Symbian is unable to properly handle Serial Port connections. Maybe someone could shed some light on how this would be able to be determined.
Cheers,

Hey folks,
have just realised that all forum entries are about one year old, so I am really lagging behind with my problems here, I guess.
The reason why would be that my phone store has sold me a pretty old phone, which still has operating system V 3.42.1 on it.
The friendly nokia support folks here in Oz told me to quickly rumble into one of te nokia support centres, and get it upgraded to V 4.09, which according to them would fix the issues.
So, seems that it really is the phone's fault at last. Since it is Friday, I'll do this Monday and then we'll see how the Bluetooth likes the phone...
Cheers,
ChrisBe
Me also having same problem, even my software version is 4.09.1, but still can't use Bluetooth Serial Port , well hope someone already solve it out there.
Hi I'm new to this forum i thouth i should share my bt pcsuit problems that i also had with my N6600, First of all i hope that nokia get there act together with there software because its not very good. Having said that i also had the same problems as most of you,
As a last resort i downloaded mrouter 3 beta from www.intuwave.com/index.php?page=105 and installed it, now the software runs as one with the mrouter which is installed with pcsuit so dont uninstall mrouter that you have already on your pc, As soon as i installed it it all started to work correctly i hope this post helps some of you out. Hi. I has same problem with my USB bluetooth at first. I solved as follows:
1. Go to My Bluetooth places (software comes with USB adaptor).
2. Click"Find Bluetooth Devices".
3. When it finds Nokia 6600 right click on icon and pair device.
4. Click "bluetooth" o task bar and go to advanced configuration.
5. Choose local services tab and check the port being used for bluetooth serial port.
6. Open MRouter (icon on bottom right task bar - grey cables) and choose port as shown in 5 above. Only that port.
7. Go back to Nokia 6600 in My bluetooth places and right click. Choose discover available services.
8. Double click Bluetrooth Serial Port. I also get the error Bluetooth Serial Port Connection Failed. The device closed etc...
Wait a while and the connection does work even though there is that error message.
Hope it works for you
