Hi,
I received my Nokia 6600 mobile about a month ago, and have been busy taking photos and loading programs onto it.
Last week I went to my girlfriend's graduation ceremony and took a series of pictures of her graduation, all of which were put onto my memory card.
On the way home, I changed the name of my memory card to 32MB MCC or something similar, and although initially this changed nothing I believe this may be the cause of a problem I've been having since.
Firstly, the .wav sound I use as a message tone stopped working. Messages were coming through unannounced. Then I became unable to access my MMC using the phone's gallery, file manager or the PC Suite software. I tried the card in my girlfriend's 6600 and it didn't work in hers either. The phone displays the message "(no memory card inserted)".
I have tried taking the card out and putting it back in and cleaning the contacts on the card and phone but to no avail.
My network operator (O2 UK) have offered to replace my phone, however the problem I have with this is that I will lose all of my photos and any installed programs stored on my memory card. Plus, having had problems with a previous phone and had to exchange it for a new one, I know that such exchanges can take weeks.
Other than changing the name of the memory card, the only other unusual thing I've done with it is putting it in a digital photo printing machine. I didn't print anything off it, but that's the first time I've taken it out of the phone since I've had it.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did they fix it?
Is there any way of getting the information off the memory card other than through the phone?
Any help anyone can offer is much appreciated!
Alex
