PC Suite is only for bluetooth, isn't it? And this is over USB...
Sorry I can't help anymore than that...getting my QD in a couple days.
Here is the answer:
I.- Nokia's PC Suite is only for a connection by bluetooth.
II.- To connect by USB you must:
1) Turn on your N-Gage/N-Gage QD and your PC (obviusly).
2) This is VERY important: Insert a MMC previously formatted with the N-Gage (that means insert your blank MMC and go to Menu---->Tools--->Options--->Format MMC).
3) Connect your N-Gage to your PC by an USB cable (in the case of the N-Gage QD with a MMC Reader/Writer, insert your MMC into it).
4) In the PC open "Windows Explorer" (Start--->Programs--->Accesories--->Windows Explorer, OR "windows key" and "E key" at same time).
5) Search for an additional Hard Disk, it may be "D:", "E:", "F:" etc, etc. (in my case is "K:"😉... this "new" hard disk is your N-Gage (or your MMC Reader/Writer).
6) Just "drag" files to transfer between N-Gage/MMC Reader and your PC.
7) Have fun!!!
NOTE: Never, repeat, NEVER format your MMC with your PC or MMC Reader, always format with your N-Gage/N-Gage QD to avoid any risks.
Hope I explained myself good.
I did this, but still no joy... Is there a suitable driver that I can install or anything else I can try, if so, please let me know...
Any help would be most appreciated.

Try installing the Audio Manageer software from the CD.

Hi danny
- Did ur pc stop recognising mmc, or did it not recognise mmc ever?
- Did problem start after u transferred something to mmc?
- Does the connection icon appear on ur n-gage?
- Did you buy new mmc, or one supplied with n-gage?
- What mmc are you using?
I'm using a 128mb sandisk mmc.
My pc used to see mmc as a removable drive, then i installed some stuff, and it said memory card corrupted. I formatted mmc on n-gage, now my pc and my laptop don't recognise any removable drive. Strangely, connection icon shows up on n-gage, implying (i think) that usb cable is fine. Also n-gage recognises mmc insterted.
Now lemme try to help you.
- If no connection icon appears on n-gage, maybe ur usb cable is faulty.
- Otherwise, maybe ur mmc is messed up.
- Someone on this forum suggested formatting mmc on a Siemens 6688i (SL45)
Here's what i'm gonna do. I'm going to the shop i bought mmc from, and gonna tell them to replace it cos its under guarantee. Maybe you should do that too if you bought a new mmc. I paid 460 South African Rands for my 128 mb sandisk mmc (about $75).

hi. got the same prob previously with my n gage classic.
solution:
go to system devices in control panel
look for other devices, if any, remove them
reconnect ur n gage.
when it says new device detected, select install automatically (after installing audio manager)
hope that helps you. it works for me 😃

Hi PpL!!! My Computer does not detect my Nokia N-Gage with a 128Mb Memory Card! I have formatted it already but i'm still with the same problem! please help me 😊 tks 😃 😃
Hi mates (make sure that in your n.gage there is a mmc card and not a gamecard, couse then it will not connect. 2nd thing. u can format your mmc with fat or fat32 or ntfs. look what was it before u formatted your mmc, then format it at the same. hope it helps mike
I also have this problem, and I've done about everything to fix it and apparently it comes down to this:
N-Gage will only show up as a removeable drive with certain memory cards.
As all my mmc cards won't show up, but my original Nokia Card does.
But this behaviour isn't noticed on all computers, some recognize all ...
So the solution, deal with it, if win XP doesn't recognize it from the start it just won't even with extra software installed.
(If you do hear the Beep that you normally hear when you connect an USB device you still have a big chance, if it doesn't beep then it's hopeless 😛)
I've bought a card reader ...
But i dont know how to format it and choose the mmc type... i dont know how to choose fat or fat32 because my pc does not detect the mmc...how do i do?? 😉
Format your mmc in something else than ur pc or ngage..when i format my ngage in the memcard reader or ngage-the pc wont recognise it...i have to format it in my digital camera...strange...but it works
btw...u have to use a mmc - not a sd card

I'm on Win 98 SE, so far I've tried all the suggested solutions on the thread and forums. No results so far. Tried the HTL 128mb, and another unknown 32mb.
Guess the driver to make the Ngage work just like a removable drive is still "missing". 🙄
Anyway, kinda given up and will just buy a mmc card reader.
Windows 98 (even "Second Edition"😉 isn't really good with USB devices. USB was very new when Windows 98 was released.
USB started to work reasonably well only with Windows 2000, then Windows ME and Windows XP.

Somehow, just dun feel like changing to XP for the time being.... 😉
