'secure connection' problem

3 replies · 6,159 views · Started 26 July 2004

I have the 7610 and it's sensational, I think. To date I've made all the right connection set-ups via SMS from my provider. I can connect to the Web for regular sites. However, I operate a website which requires a Member login, via username and password. When I attempt this I receive an error message,

Unable to create secure connection to this server

Strangely, I made a successful connection the first time !? Since then, no go.... I've confirmed my set-up with Nokia and my webhost, so I'm wondering if any other users have come across this problem...?

We've seen the same behaviour on a 6600 and a 6620. and, like you, it worked for a while before then suddenly stopping.

:con?

I've been informed my service provider does not support html. My web site log-in page needs to be written as wml. in order to access Wap session. Still, I'm not so sure. If I could do it once surely it's compatible...

So I'm now using a tool called Kablog to mobile post to my site. Otherwise an email facility is available from webhost for moblog but limited to 160 characters.

maybe just change the connection settings. the set AT&T sent (via SMS) had an error -- it had the the string "Proxy" where it should have been "proxy." changing that fixed it for me. note tho, it might have also required something on their end, as the customer service gal claimed to "reset" the account too
