I'm using 6600. Everything was working before, but since yesterday I can no longer connect the PC suite. PC Suite does not detect the connection but mrouter clear shows the phone is connected. I've tried irDA as well as bluetooth. Infact, both were working before.
I've deinstalled PC suite and ran the registry cleaner and reinstall PC Suite. Still no go. Please help! :frown:
Uninstall PC Suite from the PC and clean registry of Nokia.
It will be helful to clean with regcleaner.exe utility which is available on web.
I solved my problem trying this and it worked.

thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it still doesn't work. I've uninstalled, cleaned registry, re install more than 10 times. also, downloaded the latest PC suite from Nokia, doesn't seem to make a difference.

When I connect the phone (say Infrared). Mrouter's icon changes showing the connection. If I right click on the mrouter tray and choose 'Properties', it shows that Infrared is Connected (and the check box is checked). If I choose the 'Change Device', it shows nothing in Known and Unknown device. Somehow it is not detecting the connection.
If I then run PC Suite, it will say that this is the first time I use and need to connect the phone. But see, I've already connected the phone, it is just ignoring it. Thus I cannot proceed further to register the phone.
I know the connection works because I can send a file from the PC to the phone via infrared.
Also, same things happen if I try to connect with Bluetooth.

Sorry to be a pain but what firmware version is on your 6600?
Apparently some of the older version of the software caused similar problems. If you have older firmware you may need to update it (which could be a major hassle) before you can start testing again.
The other thing to be honest is Nokia phones can be very tempreamental with manual "lower level" or non-major branded bluetooth and/or IrDA adaptors. Occasionally you will need to make sure that you have the aboslute latest drivers installed.
And as a final point I seen a few other people who have installed the latest version of mRouter which I think is verison 3.0. It was in "beta a few months back and the developers would not support it for Nokia but it did seem to work for some folks.
I'd start with the firmware version first though.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for your suggestion. I installed and beta m-router 3.0 and somehow it corrected the problem. It's strange, because after the installation, the original mrouter also worked. Very strange, but I am happy.
Hello! Where can I find the mRouter Beta on the web? Thanx!
Hi Onutz,
try this link it might work - http://www.intuwave.com/index.php?page=download
If not go to the intuwave website and then do a search on m-router. The second entry should give you a link to the "Privacy page" for the beta version. Click on that link and then use the "back" on the left hand side of the page to get to the beta downlaod area. You'll need to leave a name and email address though.
Yes....I know it seems like an awful lot of work just to get to a beta version of software.... 🙄 but if you want a more reliable Bluetooth connection make the effort.
I did it yesterday and for the first time in 3 1/2 months I was able to get my d*mn 6600 😡 to connect via Bluetooth! The new beta is well worth it. You have far more control and it actually works. Now if I can get a decent phone and not this Nokia thing.... :frown: but I digress.
hope that helps.

Well, you will get the same problem when you use a Sony Ericsson P900 together with the Vodafone UMTS card... I actually have this problem.
Access violation, Fatal exception and the full blow... And no clue what to do.
